1. Name: Peter Anafo
Title: Assistant Librarian
Institution: University of Mines and Technology
Project: Institutional Repository


University of Mines and Technology Library is embarking on an institutional repository project that Peter is spearheading. They have started uploading abstracts of theses into the system but they are still in an experimental stage.

 

2. Name: Caitlin Bakker
Title: Digital Content Projects Coordinator
Institution: Wilfirid Laurier University
Project: Instructional Project about Scholarly Publishing

Wilfrid Laurier University is in the process of implementing Scholars Commons @ Laurier, an institutional repository. Caitlin's project involves educating graduate students about the scholarly publishing cycle.

 

3. Name: Lisa Shores
Title: Coordinator, Library Services

Name: Tim Hunter

Title: Coordinator, Library Services

Name: Brenda Almeyda
Title: Coordinator, Library Services

Institution:  Rowan-Cabarrus Community College
Project: Librarian-Faculty Collaboration


Lisa, Tim, and Brenda are working on creating materials that will help faculty members to incorporate globalization into their curricula. They hope to establish a precedent for librarian-faculty collaboration through this subject-specific project.

 

4. Name: Ghadeer Magdy
Title: Masters Student
Institution:  Department of Librarianship & Information Science, Faculty of Arts - Alexandria University in Egypt
Project: Electronic Journal Evaluation

Ghadeer is creating an evaluation criteria that will analyze the structure and quality of the electronic journals published on the internet.


5. Name: Millie Gonzalez

Title: Reference and Electronic Resources Librarian
Institution:  Framingham State University 
Project: Librarian-IT Collaboration

Millie is working on librarian/IT collaboration at her university. The library and the IT department are not planning to merge fully but would like better collaboration in order to meet students' needs in the most efficient manner.
